Laxman reports some security sensors have been tripped. I know a couple of explorers have made trips down in '09, but I haven't been down in a while. Perhaps the Bahro are exploring? Perhaps someone new has discovered something? Probably just a few harmless explorers got an itch to visit (like I do whenever I see construction cones). I wonder how many have been / are down there? Perhaps we should start reorganizing our efforts. _________________ My D'ni Exploration Notes | D'ni Explorers Guild | Abstract Penguin | KI#: 427720 |

I was collecting samples earlier, but I know it wasn't me, we've been to the harbour dozens of times with no issue.
I said to Sophie I was wondering if it wasn't Giles or Whil wandering around.
Course could be something as simple as a bat
Nice to see Laxman is still floating around though. _________________ Beneath - Journal and archive of my time in D'ni. |

Or Yeesha or Esher or . . .
My bet though would be Sharper. |

Well, I know it wasn't me. I've been in the same areas I've always been. Primarily some of the Ages I've recovered and the sections of the city I've been in for the past year. I haven't heard anything out of the ordinary either.
It's probably Sharper. Tripping one of Laxman's security sensors (which I think I've seen lying around) sounds like something a guy who telegraphs his punches through a diary would do. Wonder if he lost that ugly sweater he was wearing last time. _________________ Whilyam, KI: 25240

| Well now... this is an unexpected development. A very welcome one, though. |

I haven't been anywhere near the Cavern myself in a long while... Knowing it is so empty still hurts.
I'm glad to hear there's still some activity in there. I've been out of the Cavern loop too long. There's so much going on in the other Ages..
I'm surprised that the DRC peeps aren't totally gone after all. Last we heard of them was, what, two years ago? |

I haven't been down in months. Can't stand it when it's so quiet. I have to wonder, though, where these security sensors are placed if none of us have set them off before now?
I'm already packing a travel bag and preparing to take a few days off of work.
Edit: Ten bucks says the sensors were set up in the cafeteria. _________________ -vid (KI: 00201880)

I [Tink] and TeBO have been in and out of The Cavern for years now...
but only to resupply TeBO's snack stash in my warehouse...
or to use the warehouse as an interim link back to DaDungeon.
We haven't even done that, though...
for at least a month.
The only possibilities that pop into ZeSwamp [Tink's imagination] is...
that TeBO may have raided his stash of Terran snacks...
and been detected by my Bahro Babies.
They in turn may have moved through the stone ...
and tripped a sensor...
while following TeBO around...
or going up to the top.
I reported a group of highly tech-ed...
explorers arriving at the high desert...
to set up a base camp.
I think I may have dropped part of that observation...
onto the Myst Community forums.
Quite a while back...
if I remember correctly.
Time and place...
begin to get so jumbled...
with all my time/location jumping...
to and from the T'nk System...
in the Giraffe Nebulae.
Takes a day or two...
for ZeSwamp to reestablish a proper...
chronology...
in MY timeline sometimes.

Back then there were rumors of such measures being taken around the Guild Hall plaza following the Phil Henderson incident. From what little I saw the place was in pretty bad condition, very unstable, and I never ventured close enough to check.
I don't know if anyone has come close to that area in a while.
At any rate it seems pretty safe to assume that Laxman would have placed other electronic widgets in various spots; especially where we'd expect them the least. I always found that guy was full of surprises. |

It wasn't me, either.
I've been venturing in new areas, but the last time I went to somewhere for the first time was long before this.
I wonder what's going on... |

Could just be water seeping into the wires. But it is really nice to know that someone is watching the sensor feeds.
It has been nearly a year since I have been down there in any capacity.
Got an itch to go back.
Yup I do. |

| I've been making frequent trips down, but I've been mostly staying in the Dorehn Neighborhood, nowhere near any sensors as far as I know. |

Wasn't me either.
I check every so often to see if there is activity. I admit I feel a bit of a fool for waiting so long. Possibly just some troglobite. |

Yeah, like KI dispensers and terminals? Doesn't seem like it would be that hard for Laxman to monitor. Are you imagining little devices placed everywhere? Sensors smensors. He probably has some pretty cool alerts coded into the Lattice and Nexus. Or has anyone pressed a Neighborhood light button lately? Door button? Imager pictures and logs? Think about it... I think some folks didn't think about what might attract attention, unless that's what they wanted. _________________ Perfect speed is being there. |
